Emergency Air Ambulance has an active Quality Assurance Program. At the completion of each Care Flight directory flight, the transport team's flight notes are sent to the corporate office where the Medical Director and Medical Coordinator carefully review them. Usually with blood transfusions we like to provide them before we actually take off, so like that she doesn’t have to have it on the air ambulance service charters plane. Our case managers will call you during air ambulance transports. We typically update you when we land prior to arriving at the sending hospital and prior to arriving at the receiving hospital as well. But my case manager will keep in constant contact with you throughout the whole trip. If you want, we can coordinate calls with you if you are going to meet the patient either at the hospital or the airport.
