We typically outfit the jet transports aircraft with two aeromedical specialists on each trip. Depending on our Doctors recommendations for that specific patient, we will send critical care nurses, critical care paramedics, respiratory therapists and doctors. We call the facility to do a medical report. Our Medical Director develops protocols for the trip that are followed by our medical team. From that report, we’ll make the determination of how many medical personnel are necessary to go on the flight. Generally we staff the aircraft with two medical personnel with a critical care nurse and a critical care paramedic, but sometimes the patient requires more or different team make-up.
