Service Flights Information

Our commercial escort service will supply a registered nurse for your mother, we’ll arrange the ground transportation for you, we’ll meet the patient at the airport, and check in the patient, wheeling her to her gate and we will fly first class to the destination of your choice. During a Air Care jets trip, our nurse will take care of all her medical and hygiene needs as well as be excellent traveling companions. Some of our patients are Alzheimer patients that sometimes can get agitated during a flight. Our nurses are trained to deal with those special needs.

Patients and their family members may prefer using an air ambulance for the comfort and worry-free bedside-to-bedside service that we offer rather than using a commercial airline that do not accept patients on domestic flights for patient escort.

It seems hard to believe it was only a month ago that we engaged your service flights to bring my critically ill mother home from Barbados. Because she has improved so (she says just because she was able to come home!) and because the whole experience was so frightening, it seems like it was years ago. But it wasn't ... and my reflecting back on the situation, confirms my belief that everything started to look up the minute I contacted you and your staff. From the moment I first heard your reassuring words, that you could solve my transportation problems in the safe and medically appropriate way that the situation demanded, I stopped feeling panic-stricken. Hope was coming in the form of your staff.

Aircraft are regulated by part 135 of the Federal Aviation Administration. These are strict regulations governing aircraft operation, maintenance, and pilot training. Our Aircare critical transportation service meets or exceeds these regulations.

Once the trip is completed, our Aeromed personnel will assist you to get quick reimbursement from your insurance company. They will be more than happy to help you submit the insurance papers and are quite proficient at cutting through the red tape. While you may be busy immediately after the trip, lets be sure to get all that information up front so that we can quickly start the process for you.

The air ambulance industry uses Learjet 20 and 30 series aircraft and we do as well. These aircraft were originally built in the 70’s and 80’s, Ours were as well. However, the FAA requires stringent maintenance and rebuilding requirements so that every part on these aircraft have essentially been replaced many times over. You can be assured that aircraft flying under FAA part 135 regulations such as ours are completely safe for the traveling public. These regulations apply to large commercial airlines as well as medical transportation brokers.

Angel Flight NE provides information for patients needing air ambulance charter services to distant locations for specialized treatment. Pilots who want to serve with an air transportation charity can volunteer here. Angel Flight NE is a member of the Air Care Alliance, an umbrella organization dedicated to public benefit flying.

Emergency Air Ambulance provides domestic and international inter-facility air charter ambulances of patients requiring various levels of assistance. Our mission is to provide patients and their families a choice between medically appropriate transport alternatives of varying price ranges, all of which ensure the highest standard of medical care.

Some of our clients must fly within hours. However, it is best to give us at least 24 hours notice if possible. Doctor consultations must sometimes be flexible to your attending doctor's needs. More notice can sometimes substantially reduce your cost. Call us for details on the Lifeflight Bahamas.

All air ambulances are very limited in space because of all the medical equipment on board.

Our nurses and paramedics have at least five years of experience either in ER or first response to traumas before hiring with us. Then they also go through training to become air certified prior to flying Lifeflight air ambulances. In addition, they fly with a preceptor prior to managing patient care. We have ongoing training in protocols and patient care as well as quality review of each trip that is performed.

We can accommodate most wheelchairs that are collapsible. If it’s a motorized wheel chair we may not be able to fit it on the Air Care jets aircraft but we can assist you in having it shipped for her.
