As you know, my sister had called a few other similar ambulances, but none of the other people offered her the options or level of comfort that sounded to me was standard practice with your concern. And none could have been as kind, patient, and seemingly interested as you were or as forgiving with my endless calls and questions. In the end, it was your willingness to share in this whole experience in every way that had won me over ... and even at that, you succeeded in surpassing my expectation.

About 35 percent of our clients have some insurance coverage for Mercy transportation.

Emergency Air Ambulance has a 100 percent safety record. Our Care Flight air charter aircraft are regulated by part 135 of the Federal Aviation Administration. These are strict regulations governing aircraft operation, maintenance, and pilot training. Our service meets or exceeds these regulations.

Our Medical Director insures that your patient receives proper treatment during the transport. Our Insurance Specialist helps manage the paper work for you after your trip is completed. Our patient transportation broker team makes your transport as peaceful as possible.

Usually with blood transfusions we like to provide them before we actually take off, so like that she doesn’t have to have it on the carrier flights plane. On the plane we do have fluids that can provide blood volume increasers. However, if the only way to transport the patient is to provide transfusion in route, we can manage that as well with advanced notice.

All of our air ambulances are cabin pressurized to maintain a comfortable flight for our patients. In addition, cabin pressurization is important for patient care. At lower pressures, patients require more oxygen and medical equipment operation is compromised. Insist on pressurized cabins for your patient's care.

As soon as we coordinate the timing with the family and both the sending and receiving facilities, we set up all the company jets arrangements; set up all the ground transports, coordinate with the facilities, work-out all of the timing and then we type an itinerary for you. We can send it to you by fax, email or mail, whichever is more convenient, and then our flight coordinator will go over the itinerary in detail with family members.

You can reach us at this number that you called 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will always have experienced Med Flight transports coordinators available to help you. If I am here, I would be happy to assist you, just ask for me. If I am not, tell the coordinator your name and they will be able to pull up your file and continue a discussion with you at any time. If you would like, I can be paged and would be happy to answer any of your questions any time.

We have extensive experience in air charter charter services. We can arrange for our medical team to transport the patient on a long-range aircraft or as a more cost effective solution, arrange for a stretcher to be placed on a commercial aircraft. Commercial medical escorts can be less than half the cost of a private jet. We have evacuated patients from Singapore, Guam, Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and Central and South America and many other countries throughout the world.

There are a few other alternatives that are generally less expensive than broker costs. A few of those options are Amtrak Transport where we would buy a sleeper car on an Amtrak train line. We would supply it with our medical personnel and then what we’ll do is our medical personnel will assist and transport your family member by train. Another option would be long-range ground transport, which what we do is we organize an ambulance and we’ll be able to staff it with two drivers and also a medical personnel and instead of going by air ambulance, we’ll drive them the entire route.

Upon arrival at the airport, the ambulance pulls right up to the jet and the long distance lear jet crew transfers the patient to the jet stretcher.

A few other options for StatFlight American services would be to go commercially on either a commercial escort or a commercial stretcher service. Before take-off, the nurse will place a pulseoximeter on the patient’s finger and measure his oxygen saturation. As the plane rises in elevation, we will monitor his o2 level and dial in more supplemental oxygen to maintain his level. And unlike commercial airlines, if we have to fly at lower altitudes to maintain his oxygen, we can and will to maintain his safety and care.
